After the success of the first performances in March at the Dansoir, Karine Saporta’s 2019 choreographic collaboration with Irish instrumental and vocal vocal music, by Melanie O’Reilly ‘Joy’: The Land of Ireland”, returns for three dates during Easter weekend, April 19 to 22. Do not miss it!
“Joy: The Land of Ireland” est une spectacle, une collaboration de la choreographe de Karine Saporta avec la musique de Melanie O’Reilly, qui s’inspire des mythes antiques, de la poésie, de la philosophie, de la spiritualité et de la tradition de la chanson en Irlande, tout en empruntant aux thèmes musicaux contemporains du jazz, aboutissant à une fusion pulsionnelle de l’ancien et du moderne. Cette sonorité unique est un symbole fort et crée un pont fascinant entre la musique irlandaise et le jazz, expression puissante dans le cadre du mouvement «ethno-jazz» en cours de développement en Europe et dans le monde.
“Joy: The Land of Ireland ” is a unique show, a collaboration of Karine Saporta’s choreography with the music of Melanie O’Reilly, inspired by ancient myths, poetry, philosophy, spirituality and tradition of song in Ireland, while borrowing from contemporary jazz music themes, resulting in an impulsive fusion of old and new, this unique sound is a strong symbol and creates a fascinating bridge between Irish music and jazz, powerful expression in the context of the “ethno-jazz” movement under development in Europe and in the world.
