In this episode of Jazz on the Bay, Melanie meets the legendary Wayne Shorter, whose long career encompasses 50 years of jazz innovation. A multi Grammy-award winner, weaned on bebop in the 40s who broke new ground as a member of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers,and later joined Miles Davis’ second great quintet, he co-founded the jazz fusion band “Weather Report”, and continues to be a prolific composer of orchestral jazz.
