As a special tribute to the late Wayne Shorter who passed away last month on March 2nd, 2023, Melanie O’Reilly replays an interview captured backstage at the National Concert Hall Dublin Ireland with the legendary composer and saxophonist. The multi-Grammy Award winner broke new ground as a member of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, and later joined Miles Davis’ second great quintet, and cofounded the jazz fusion band Weather Report. Wayne shared his extraordinary life story and career talking about his inspirations and memorable recordings.
